Another project for MercRacing. Jose bought an Audi S4 with the 3.0T engine, the T of 3.0T would naturally make you think it was turbocharged, however they all came supercharged (W2A chargecooled) as standard. There had been previous attempts at increasing the output of the standard unit, but its capacity was letting it down. Magnuson produced a design that used a TVS1740 unit it, but still there was a feeling that you could a bigger blower in there. After a bit of investigation Jose and I opted for a Harrop HTV1900 and I set about designing the whole manifold and intercooling system.

As the manifold is really on display in the engine compartment, there was a need to make the design aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. Taking cues from the grille of the S4 I set about replicating the look on the top cover plate of the unit, this has proved very popular in the Audi community.

The unit has seen its way into not just the S4 but also into the SQ5, where it has famously been all over YouTube doing 0-60mph in under 3 seconds.
